We’re extremely proud to share some exciting news from this year’s Great Taste Awards.
Two of our Yarde Farm ice creams have been recognised by the judges, earning a total of three Great Taste stars between them:
Chunky Chocolate Ice Cream – 1 Star
Jimmy’s Latte Ice Cream – 2 Stars
Organised by the Guild of Fine Food, the Great Taste Awards are one of the most respected accreditations for food and drink in the UK, with products judged through a rigorous blind-tasting process by chefs, buyers, retailers and food writers.
For us, these awards are all about our mission to craft flavoursome ice cream. We take great pride in creating ice cream that’s made with quality ingredients and crafted to deliver memorable moments of pure joy with every scoop (or spoon). So receiving this recognition means a great deal to the whole team.
A double-star success for jimmy’s latte
Our Jimmy’s Latte Ice Cream picked up an impressive 2 Star award, wowing the judges with its authentic coffee flavour and creamy texture.
The judges praised “the wonderful balance of coffee and sweetness that allowed the coffee to be the star” and commented that “it is close to offering a milky frothy drinking experience.”
That’s exactly what we hoped to achieve when developing the recipe in partnership with Jimmy’s. We wanted the flavour to deliver the comforting experience of a freshly made latte while still being unmistakably ice cream, so hearing that feedback from the judges was incredibly rewarding.
What’s more, this is the second round of success for Jimmy’s Latte as the flavour has already been awarded a GOLD award at this year’s Taste of the West awards.
A winning recipe for chunky chocolate
Our Chunky Chocolate Ice Cream also earned a coveted 1 Star award, impressing judges with its rich chocolate flavour and generous inclusions.
Describing it as “authentically chocolatey”, the judges also noted that “there is a generous quantity of chocolate pieces.”
We couldn’t have put it better ourselves.
Chunky Chocolate is one of our classic flavours that people return to time and time again. It’s indulgent, packed full of quality Belgian chocolate that delivers exactly what chocolate lovers are looking for in every scoop.
A proud moment for the team
Awards like these don’t happen by accident. From sourcing great ingredients and developing recipes to making, packing and delivering our ice cream, every member of the Yarde Farm team plays a part.
